Form & Flow: Questioning Techniques from a Trial Attorney Turned UX Researcher

As UX researchers, we love to focus on interesting methodologies, recruiting the right users, and sharing our findings. But we often overlook the simplest, yet most critical part of our jobs: asking questions. Questions are the primary way we obtain information from our users. The questions we ask and the way we ask them are critical. A veteran of over 1,000 court appearances, Bradley Miller, Lead UX Researcher at Autotrader, will discuss how to improve your questions to drive better research. We’ll also have plenty of time for discussion, so bring your questions (regardless of form), and your ideas for discussion.

Bradley Miller is the Lead UX Researcher at Autotrader, and leader of the Cox Automotive UX Research Community of Practice. He is licensed to practice law and to drive race cars.

Parking: Proceed down Summit Blvd PAST the front of the 3003 building. The first driveway entrance on your right after passing the front of the 3003 building will take you to the visitor parking lot (there is a sign here, but it’s quite small).
